Trash of the Count’s Family Part 2 Chapter 412: Night and Light (8)

Cale was heading to the lowest part of the puddle.

‘It’s deeper than I thought.’

This ‘puddle’ was too small to call it a lake.

But the depth was greater than he had expected.

Chhh-

But Cale was moving quickly to the bottom.

‘Why is that bastard so fast?’

The Saint chasing him was very fast as well.

Swoooooooosh-

Both of them were quickly heading down with wind swirling around them.

Of course, no matter how fast the saint was-

‘He’s still slower than I am!’

Cale could see the grey whirlwind swirling on the bottom.

‘How interesting.’

It was the night of the full moon.

He was also inside water.

‘I can see it clearly.’

But he could see the grey whirlwind extremely clearly.

It was as if it was telling him to find it.

‘It’s a good thing.’

That was good for Cale.

– I can push away a whirlwind of that level.

Cale moved after hearing the Sound of the Wind’s comment.

“—!”

He heard something above him.

It was probably the desperate Saint.

But he didn’t even glance in that direction.

He didn’t need to drag it out.

Chhhhhhhhhh-

Cale’s hand moved in the water and headed toward the whirlwind.

A whirlwind about the same height as Cale…

At the center of that was-

‘A knife?’

It was a small knife.

‘I thought it would be an orb or something similar.’

It was a knife the length of Cale’s forearm.

Swoooooooosh-

Cale’s wind swirled into the whirlwind.

Cale’s hand moved with it.

‘!’

Cale flinched.

– Hold on!

The Dominating Aura urgently shouted.

Cale had felt it a moment ago.

‘This thing-’

This knife…

‘This seems really intense?’

He had not known because it was covered by the whirlwind, but this knife seemed to not be normal.

He could feel that it was not just your average knife.

Cale had held quite a few different divine items in his hand until now.

However-

‘It feels ominous.’

This knife was definitely different from the other divine items he had touched until now.

Was it because it was a divine item of an ancient god, the ones who were said to be the strongest among all the gods?

Or was it this divine item that was different from others?

‘Ah, this is driving me nuts.’

His back turned cold.

His instincts were telling him not to touch this thing.

‘But I can’t just leave it here.’

That was the problem.

‘This knife is the result of all of the rituals until now.’

As long as this knife existed, the Church of the God of Chaos could attempt to advent the God of Chaos into this world at any time.

Destroying the Holy Land…

No matter what building they destroyed, this knife needed to disappear for the Holy Land to truly perish.

Chhh-

Above.

Cale looked up.

‘Fuck!’

The Saint was pretty close.

The corners of his lips were curling up.

He seemed to be saying, ‘you can’t touch it, can you?’ He looked pretty relaxed.

Yes, even that bastard knew that this divine item was dangerous.

– Cale.

The Dominating Aura spoke seriously at that moment.

– Let’s use my power.

‘What?’

The Dominating Aura and the Sky Eating Water…

They had discussed not using these two powers here.

It was the reason Cale was using the air given to him through the Sound of the Wind to breathe underwater instead of using the Sky Eating Water.

– Wrap my aura all over your body.

The bluffing man was more serious than ever before.

– Then you at least won’t die.

Cale’s eyes clouded over.

Boom. Boom.

Cale could feel his heart still beating wildly.

Cale could handle most injuries as long as he had his Vitality of the Heart, the ancient power with the power of regeneration.

– I’ll do whatever I can to handle that pressure. I can’t lose to a damn divine item.

He could feel the sincerity behind those words.

The Sky Eating Water then chimed in as well.

– I’m here too. And this is underwater.

Chaos.

The two ancient powers that possessed that power and were familiar with it were saying they should give it a try.

Honestly speaking…

‘I have no choice but to try.’

The only options Cale had right now was to leave the divine item and run or grab it and run. It had to be one of those two choices.

And based on his personality, the first option wasn’t even an option.

Cale lifted his head up.

The Saint was so close that he could reach Cale if he extended his hand out.

Smile.

Cale smiled at him.

“!”

As the relieved Saint’s eyes opened wide…

Swoooooooosh-

The wind surrounding Cale lessened.

Chhh-

Instead, water swirled inside the water and wrapped around Cale.

And-

“!”

The Saint stopped approaching him.

No, his body had stiffened for a moment.

The Dominating Aura spoke to Cale.

– Full power.

An intangible aura wrapped around Cale.

The Dominating Aura.

The aura did not move toward anyone.

The aura’s target wasn’t a person this time.

The divine item.

It was to protect Cale from this knife.

As the Dominating Aura used its full power to protect Cale for the first time…

“—!”

The Saint could not even move.

No thought…

No action…

He could not do anything.

The strong aura that filled this small puddle…

Even if the aura was focused on Cale, it was still trying to dominate everything.

The Saint had no choice but to stiffen.

There was nothing else he could do.

‘Ah!’

And once he could move again…

Chhhh-

The grey whirlwind was pushed back.

Cale’s hand moved through the gap.

Finally, Cale grabbed the knife.

‘N, no!’

The Saint scowled.

At the same time…

‘Ugh!’

Cale groaned.

Fuck!

Fuck!

Fuck!’

He had no thoughts and no words came out of his mouth.

It was slamming toward him.

The dreadful pain, piercing sorrow, rage, injustice, and grief of numerous deaths-

All of it came slamming toward Cale.

– Cale, Cale!

The Super Rock urgently called out to Cale but he could not hear it.

It was slamming toward him again.

The laughter of people enjoying the deaths of others, the joy of people cheering through the night, the excited footsteps of the people dancing in the blood-soaked ground-

They swept over Cale.

‘Huff-’

He took a deep breath.

Cale felt like he could not see anything despite his eyes being open.

‘-!’

He then suddenly felt a chill.

It was like death that came without any warning.

This chill that suddenly swept over him…

Cale lifted his head up.

“!”

He then saw it.

He saw the eye looking at him beyond the grey fog.

The sorrow and joy that endlessly filled his mind and shook his whole body…

The crying voices and the happy cheers…

Everything mixed together and started to bind Cale’s whole body.

And the eye looking at him-

It was getting closer.

The eye beyond the grey fog was getting closer, and…

Getting clearer.

It was coming toward him.

He could not breathe.

No, his entire body seemed to be swept up in pleasure and sorrow and shaking nonstop.

It felt like he had disappeared and what filled the void was someone’s pain or someone’s joy.

‘Ah.’

The eye got even closer.

He could hear it.

‘Ah.’

Cale could now properly hear the cries and cheers.

‘Sob, team leader-nim! Team leader Lee, you’re not supposed to go like this!’

‘Jung Soo, Jung Soo!’

‘Sob, father, because of the monsters, because of the monster! Both my father and mother! Ahh-’

‘P, please don’t kill me. No, please at least let my child go, please, please-’

The cries that Cale and Kim Rok Soo had experienced could be heard.

‘Keke, Team leader Kim. Why are you so stiff? Do you want to end up like Team leader Lee Soo Hyuk?’

‘Pwahahahah! They are dying because they are weak. Why should our guild go to support them?’

‘Ha, haha-. Mr. Rok Soo. This world now belongs to those with power. Let’s enjoy it a bit.’

The laughter he did not want to hear as well.

The memories, the records that he did not want to recall, were flooding in.

‘Ah.’

And the eye…

That eye got even closer.

He felt like his reflection would show on the eye now.

‘Yeah.’

He couldn’t even see the grey fog anymore.

All he could see was that eye.

The grey eye-

‘And inside it-’

Cale’s reflection visible on it-

‘Huh……?’

Yes. That appearance.

Cale was-

– Cale!

He saw it.

he saw his reflection in the grey eye.

He saw his own eyes.

His reddish brown eyes.

Once he looked into those eyes…

– Cale!

The Dominating Aura. He heard that bluffing bastard’s desperate voice.

The voice that was shaking but continued to call out to Cale…

– Cale!

Cale could finally see himself properly.

His reddish brown eyes.

Other than his eyes that were releasing the intangible Dominating Aura, the rest of his body was covered in grey.

No, it was getting dyed grey.

It was similar to Choi Jung Gun’s body suffering from the pollution of chaos.

But it was different from that pollution.

This was not pollution.

This was something more foundational, something to take people down.

– Cale!

But the sound that had been swallowing Cale was getting faint.

Instead, the Dominating Aura’s voice was getting louder.

Cale lifted his head up.

He looked right into the grey eye.

More specifically, he was looking at his own eyes reflected on it.

– Cale!

Once the Dominating Aura called out to him again…

“I can hear you.”

Cale opened his mouth and responded.

Once he heard his voice…

—-!

All of the sounds inside his memories disappeared.

And…

“Ugh!”

He had to groan.

“Ugh!”

Cale lowered his head.

He did not look into the grey eye.

He couldn’t do that.

‘Fuck!’

He noticed that he was holding the knife with both hands.

The two hands holding the hilt of the knife were getting dyed grey.

His arms as well, and every part of his skin that he could see was turning grey.

Chhhhhhh-

Swoooooooosh-

Furthermore, Cale saw the grey whirlwind surrounding him as well.

No, it wasn’t surrounding him.

It was trying to sweep him out.

It was an extremely strong gust.

– Fuck!

The Sky Eating Water was trying to do whatever she could to protect Cale from it.

The water was trying to push the gust away.

Every time she did that, the grey gust injured the water as if it was a sharp claw.

– Fuck!

The Sky Eating Water groaned every time that happened.

– Cale, I, I’m resisting it-

The Dominating Aura sounded happy yet his voice was shaking.

The Dominating Aura really was resisting it.

Eyes.

Cale realized that everything other than his reddish brown eyes were drowning in the grey aura that the divine item was releasing.

Ooooo—

The intangible aura was doing everything to at least protect Cale’s eyes.

Drip.

Blood dripped out of his mouth.

Cale didn’t care.

His eyes could clearly look around because they were not drowning in chaos.

If he could see…

As long as he could record, Cale could always find a solution.

“Kahahaha-!”

He could see the Saint faintly laughing beyond the whirlwind.

He seemed to have no issues speaking or laughing despite being underwater.

The entire puddle became dyed grey from the chaos coming out of the knife.

The Saint was free inside it.

“You are being consumed as I expected! Yes, you are fitting to be the first sacrifice of the day!”

He had seen Cale’s body getting dyed grey before the grey gust created by the divine item swept over Cale.

This human seemed to be resisting it somehow, but he will end up consumed in the end.

‘That is one of the original divine items.’

It was not just a normal divine item.

It would not be exaggerating to say that the essence of chaos was inside this item.

This was the reason it was chosen as the medium to handle the advent of the God of Chaos.

“You will soon meet your end!”

Thinking that Cale might be a god and run off with the divine item…

That was the concern on the Saint’s mind when he jumped into the puddle, but…

‘Good.’

This was great.

The 44th night of pleasure, the last one they needed…

This human seemed perfect to be the sacrifice for this splendid ritual.

‘It’s happy!’

The Saint could feel it clearly because he was in this grey water, because he was inside this chaos.

This ‘Knife of Chaos’ was extremely excited to welcome this human and do everything it could to consume him.

He didn’t know the reason.

The Saint had not seen what was inside this human yet.

However, maybe it was because this human held many different forms of chaos inside of him that the Knife of Chaos would welcome?

‘It’s a pity I didn’t get to figure out who he is.’

It would be great to know his identity, but this human would soon be consumed by chaos.

He would end his life as a sacrifice for their god, so he would not have time to look into his background.

‘It doesn’t matter.’

His identity or the powers behind him were things he could figure out through this guy’s allies above.

‘The ritual cannot be avoided.’

The knife started to know.

Inside this puddle full of chaos…

‘As long as that human is consumed-’

This Night of the Beginning would then naturally be covered in chaos and start the ritual where everything is offered up as sacrifices.

“Kahahaha!”

The Saint started laughing again.

He loosened the grip on the two knives in his hands he brought as a last resort.

He looked at the whirlwind with a happy heart.

He was looking forward to the moment the human inside dies.

He was also looking forward to the death of chaos that would happen in this Holy Land afterward.

He desperately waited for it.

He licked his lips and his eyes sparkled.

‘Are you going to let it end with you as a serial killer?’

He heard the Pope’s voice.

‘Or will you be a great historical figure to be remembered throughout history? Your life from here depends on your decision.’

The young boy who found no interest in anything other than killing, decided to become a great historical figure.

That seemed to be the way to make even more deaths happen.

“Haha!”

A refreshing laugh flowed out like music from the Saint’s mouth.

Swoooooooosh-

Cale could hear the Saint’s refreshing laugh through the rough movements of the grey gust.

‘Fuck!

Why is that bastard laughing so annoyingly?’

But Cale had no time to pay it much attention.

Drip.

His mind was completely clear.

But the blood dripping out of his mouth was increasing in volume.

He could feel it even without looking.

Because his body was starting to hurt more.

It hurt a lot.

He had not felt pain like this in a long time.

‘What do I do?’

Cale could not let go of the divine item.

‘I can’t release it!’

The knife did not let Cale let go.

His hands that were dyed grey seemed to not follow Cale’s will anymore.

– Huff. Huff.

The Sky Eating Water let out a rough breath.

IT was barely stopping the grey gust.

Only the water surrounding Cale was completely transparent and not grey.

Everything else was grey.

The puddle covered in grey…

Cale looked up.

The world was grey.

Everything was full of chaos.

Cale couldn’t even figure out where he was right now.

Whether he was at the bottom of the puddle or the middle… Or maybe near the surface of the water…

He could not see no matter how much he looked around.

He could not figure it out at all.

‘Ugh!’

He felt intense pain.

Cale still kept his eyes wide open.

He looked around.

– …Persist……!

He listened to the Dominating Aura’s words to push itself as he looked around.

He was looking around for an answer.

“!”

He then saw it.

He saw something once he raised his head again.

Far away.

Faintly…

Through the grey that seemed as if it would never end, he saw something faintly appear and disappear back and forth.

It was something trying to pierce through the grey no matter what it took.

It was light.

“Ha, haha-”

Cale subconsciously started to laugh.

Blood was dripping out but he paid it no attention.

His entire body felt as if it was crumbling, but he paid it no attention.

He could see light.

It was a familiar light.

It was a light he had experienced before.

It was the sun.

He knew very well whose sun it was.

‘Your highness-!’

It was clear that Alberu Crossman was sending light to the bottom of the water full of chaos.

No, he was trying very hard to pierce through the chaos.

‘As expected-’

As expected, he was someone Cale could trust to find the answer when he was not around.

Cale found the answer while looking at the light.

‘If this is chaos-’

Up there was not chaos.

So he needed to head up.

It was different from when he didn’t know where to go.

That light.

He just needed to follow that light.

The sun, Alberu Crossman, was creating a gap for him to escape from the chaos.

Cale could get out as long as that small gap was present.

It wasn’t just his instincts anymore. He was certain.

Drip.

His entire body was shaking and he was still dyed grey.

Only his eyes remained clear, and…

It wasn’t easy to move his body, but…

Still…

– Cale.

Cale remembered what he had seen.

The Scary Giant Cobblestone spoke in a low voice.

– This is just a small puddle.

‘I know.’

He had seen the shape and terrain of this place.

The eyes that found the answer sparkled even brighter.

– And I am the ground.

The Sky Eating Water reacted. reacted to those words.

– The first time we met!

Yes, the power Cale had used when he first met the Sky Eating Water was not water.

He did not have water at that time.

Then how did he fight inside the water?

The answer was the earth, it was the boulder.

The wide basin where only green grass existed…

All of that was the earth.

Everything was destroyed or being destroyed, but the earth remained.

– A small puddle like this, even if it is full of chaos…

The Super Rock commented.

– The thing surrounding this chaos is earth.

He made a request to Cale.

– Let’s go up.

Cale answered him.

“Yeah.”

It was clear where he needed to go.

To the light shining on the surface…

He was going to go toward the sun that was lighting his way through the chaos despite the difficulty.

He just had to go.

Boom-

The bottom of the lake.

The earth…

The boulder underneath the earth started to shake.
