Cale checked the areas of the temple complex before turning around.
Alberu started to speak.
“This is under the Root of Beginning.”
The temple complex was at the center of the plus shaped Cliff of Death. It was the spot where the two gorges crossed each other, the location underneath the only bridge connecting the Devil’s Boundary.
“The reason the bridge disappears on the night of the new moon must be because of the night of pleasure.”
Alberu nodded his head at Rosalyn’s comment.
The Heavenly Demon, who had stealthily looked around, chimed in.
“This entire city feels like a church.”
It was similar to the Demon Cult.
“Honestly speaking, even more than the Demon Cult.”
The rest of the group, who had also seen that this place was the size of a city as they stealthily moved, agreed with the Heavenly Demon through silence.
The numerous buildings they passed on their way here…
There were homes, markets, and even places that resembled administrative buildings.
More people were here than they had expected.
It truly resembled a city.
However, despite having enough land to reach the size of a large city, the actual size of the city was average.
It still did not take away from the fact that there were a ton of people here.
‘Everybody here are believers of the God of Chaos.’
These believers were all crazed believers who truly enjoyed that dreadful ritual of the night of pleasure.
‘They are all enemies.’
Cale should not trust anybody here other than the people who were captured as sacrifices.
“How very odd.”
Cale turned toward Rosalyn after hearing her comment.
“They claim to worship chaos, but this place has more order than anywhere else. Extremely disgustingly orderly.”
It truly was orderly.
“All buildings look toward the temple.”
It was as Rosalyn said.
Every building Cale saw on his way here had windows in only one direction.
As they moved in that direction, they saw that it was the temple.
To be more accurate…
“All the windows are pointed toward the Night of the Beginning.”
The center of this city…
The Root of Beginning…
The fanatics of the church who existed underneath it…
Their Holy Land, the Night of the Beginning, was at the center of this place.
Every building in this city had their windows facing it.
Gashan, who had been quietly listening, chimed in.
“I do not see a single blade of grass or wildflower.”
He was right.
There was a forest outside the city, but…
There was nothing here.
“There are no birds flying around either.”
No birds.
No animals either.
“I don’t even see any bugs.”
They couldn’t hear any bugs either.
“…I do not feel any life.”
There were no lifeforms other than the believers of the God of Chaos.
Only these believers existed under the grey sky.
“But it is still lively.”
Gashan looked disgusted.
The believers of the God of Chaos lived like normal people in this place that had no other lifeforms.
They laughed, they chatted…
They all looked excited right now.
The sun was going to set soon and night would arrive.
They could not hide their excitement under the grey sky that even covered up the sunset.
“They seem to be waiting for night to quickly arrive.”
Silence followed the Heavenly Demon’s comment.
Cale looked at the silent others before his gaze stopped.
It stopped on someone who had been looking up at the sky without saying anything.
“Eruhaben-nim.”
Eruhaben looked down from the sky and at Cale.
“I think it would be best to split into two teams, Eruhaben-nim.”
There were currently six of them.
“One team for the sacrifices, the other to investigate the temple complex. What do you think?”
Eruhaben had to take charge of the sacrifices side.
Eruhaben knew the location they were keeping the sacrifices imprisoned.
“We need to save the sacrifices.”
It was the right thing to do.
But more importantly, there was the benefit of stopping a ritual that would benefit the God of Chaos.
The advent of the God of Chaos.
They needed the ritual to fail in order to stop that.
“Gashan.”
“Yes, Cale-nim.”
“Miss Rosalyn.”
“Okay. Sounds good.”
Gashan, Eruhaben, and Rosalyn…
These three people were one team.
Eruhaben knew exactly what to do even without Cale saying anything.
“They are imprisoned in four different places.”
North, South, East, and West.
The sacrifices were imprisoned within the walls located at the four different entrances into the gorge.
“There are close to 500 people.”
Each area had between 100 to 150 captives.
Eruhaben had already confirmed all of that.
Rosalyn commented as well.
“We can’t teleport inside the Devil’s Boundary.”
They would have used a large-scale teleportation magic circle to move the sacrifices, but they could not do that in the Devil’s Boundary.
“And the only secret passage we know about is one.”
The secret passage they saw through Hin Pao’s memories… They could not evacuate 500 people through a path that only two people could fit through at once.
It would take a long time and the enemies would not sit still as they did it.
Eruhaben started to speak.
“The best way is to let all of the sacrifices escape at the same time.”
One way to do that was through a large-scale teleportation, but that was impossible.
Cale looked up at the sky.
Rosalyn looked at the sky as well before speaking.
“Even if it is not teleportation, gathering everybody and then using wind magic to float them out of the gorge is doable.”
Instantly making 500 people float up to the top of the gorge…
It wasn’t easy, but Eruhaben, Rosalyn, and Alberu were here. It was something they could definitely try.
“That grey sky is the issue.”
Eruhaben had already had the same thought as Rosalyn, but…
There was one obstacle in their way.
The grey sky.
“Don’t the users or mid-level NPCs die or get logged out once they touch that grey fog?”
That was the rules of the game.
“Furthermore, it is highly likely that this fog is the God of Chaos’s power. Who knows what the sacrifices would experience inside that thing. We don’t even know if we can pierce through that thing.”
Eruhaben knew the strength of the power of the God of Chaos.
He had already seen the power of the God of Chaos when it appeared in front of Cale.
“Mm.”
As Rosalyn groaned…
Cale opened his mouth.
“Let’s go with that method.”
He looked away from the sky and addressed the two great mages.
“Evacuating all of the sacrifices at once through the sky to save them. That is a great idea.”
“But the sky-”
Cale continued to speak as Rosalyn questioned him.
“In Hin Pao’s memories, the sky was not grey on the night of pleasure.”
Eruhaben’s gaze changed.
“It was just a regular night. A night without a moon.”
The real sky without this grey fog.
The night of pleasure that he saw in Hin Pao’s memories was exactly that, a night of the new moon.
“I don’t know about the other places, but at the Night of the Beginning where the sacrifice ritual takes place… At least that place did not have a grey sky.”
He had no idea if the other parts of this city would still have a grey sky over it.
But at least the Night of the Beginning, at least that stage where the sacrifices were dying, that place showed the real sky.
“Sounds good.”
Eruhaben made up his mind.
“Raon and Choi Han will be waiting outside in a little bit as well.”
Raon and Choi Han should be following the map Alberu made for them to enter the Devil’s Boundary and arrive at this place.
Tonight, on the night of the new moon…
Once the grey fog over the Night of the Beginning disappears and the sky opens…
“If we send the sacrifices flying up, Raon should have no problem gathering them.”
“Yes, Eruhaben-nim.”
That could only mean one thing.
“Once all of the sacrifices are gathered at the Holy Land…”
Once all five hundred or so of them arrive at the Night of the Beginning…
Before the ritual happens…
“Let’s send all of them up at once before the Saint does something to the sacrifices.”
Eruhaben looked toward Rosalyn.
“Yes, Eruhaben-nim. Let’s do it together.”
The smiling Rosalyn’s confident smile…
All of the believers would gather at the Holy Land today to enjoy the ritual and worship their god.
Eruhaben and Rosalyn would need to protect five hundred people and send up flying up to the top of the gorge while at the center of the enemies.
“I’m confident.”
“You better be.”
A great mage and a great Dragon smiled as if it was obvious.
“Soon.”
Cale looked at his watch.
“Once the sun sets completely and the sky goes dark…”
Once it is completely night time.
“That is when the ritual will start.”
In terms of time…
“It should happen in about one hour.”
Cale shared the plan with the others.
“Each team will finish their preparations and then meet up at the Night of the Beginning.”
Gashan commented as he stood next to Eruhaben.
“If they followed the tracks properly, right around then or just before then should be when the wanderers arrive as well.”
The wanderers, Cho and Ryun.
It wasn’t intended to be this way, but they should arrive at the right time as well.
“See you later.”
Eruhaben, Rosalyn, and Gashan left first.
There was a reason Cale had stuck Eruhaben and Rosalyn together.
‘We have no idea what will happen in the chaos later.’
For example, if they were unable to send the sacrifices away later, they should be able to at least cast shields or spells to protect them.
– I’m here too… I’m good at protecting too…
The Indestructible Shield. The glutton priestess tried to get Cale to listen to her but Cale pretended as if he did not hear her.
‘I don’t know what will happen.’
Originally, Cale had thought about making the Church of the God of Chaos fight against the two wanderers to destroy the Holy Land.
‘…But now I don’t know how the Church of the God of Chaos will react.’
The Night of the Beginning.
If this Holy Land was not just a Holy Land but the place they needed for the advent of the God of Chaos, the church would do anything they could to protect this place.
‘And if this place is for him to advent, we need to make sure to destroy this place.’
Cale now had a reason to make sure that this place was destroyed.
Choi Jung Gun.
A divine item for the Blue Wolf.
The prevention of the advent of the God of Chaos.
He needed to make sure he did all three of these things.
And in order to do that-
“Shall we go?”
Cale started to move with the Heavenly Demon and Alberu as well.
The Heavenly Demon was the only person to achieve a unique power and had the power of martial arts. He was also the patriarch of the Demon Cult. He should be the best at recognizing things at a church like this.
As for Alberu, he was at the highest level in both power and magic.
‘He’s someone who would understand me best and know what I would want to do if I am in a difficult situation.’
He needed someone like that by his side.
If, for some reason, Cale fainted or ended up in a state where he could not do anything…
‘He’ll have to give orders in my place.’
He had to show Alberu the important places for him to be able to do that.
“We will take care of the quest requirements and the purification ritual at the Record Room.”
[Go into the hidden area of the Record Room to gain the ‘Record of the Power of Chaos.’]
[Go to the Flipped Night and rip up the records you have gained.]
“Meet back up at the Holy Land. We can rip the records in the Flipped Night around the time they save all of the sacrifices and the two of you can protect Eruhaben-nim and Miss Rosalyn.”
The Heavenly Demon opened his mouth.
“Is the Flipped Night where the Saint will proceed with the ritual?”
“Yeah.”
The Holy Land, The Night of the Beginning.
The center of that area was called the Flipped Night.
The Saint stood in that place, letting chaos take over the hearts of the sacrifices so that they would kill each other.
The Heavenly Demon nodded his head and added on.
“And we might as well tack on a divine item for the Blue Wolf then too.”
“Yeah. That’s right.”
Whether it is the Record Room, or the Holy Land for the ritual…
A divine item has to be somewhere, so they just needed to steal it.
It should be no issue swiping a single item in the chaos.
“Also-”
Cale shared one other thing they needed to do.
Before they met back up at the Holy Land…
If possible…
“We should check the Saint in advance first.”
The Saint.
He had no expectations of meeting the Saint here, but…
He should be here since today was the day of the ritual.
“This is good.”
The Heavenly Demon slowly smiled.
“The Saint and the wanderers will fight each other.”
“Correct.”
That was the picture Cale had in mind.
Fear of Chaos.
The Saint was the owner of that power.
What kind of person would the Saint of the God of Chaos be?
How strong was he?
Would a Pope be here too?
He had many questions.
There was only one answer to resolve that question.
“Huuuuu.”
Cale let out a short breath before speaking again.
“Let’s go.”
The temple complex. They just needed to sneak into this place.
The Heavenly Demon knew what needed to be done to make that happen.
“Would the clothes of a few low-grade priests be good?”
“Yeah. But if possible, middle-grade priests would be better.”
“That much is nothing.”
The Heavenly Demon started to lead the way before his body disappeared.
He must have used his martial arts.
Cale had no doubts that he would soon receive some priest robes of the Church of the God of Chaos.
‘We don’t have much time, so let’s hurry.’
One hour.
That wasn’t very long.
‘Hmm?’
Then a weird thought made Cale stop walking.
The person who should be walking side by side with him was quiet.
“Your highness?”
Crown prince Alberu.
He was blankly standing in the back.
Cale thought about it and realized that Alberu had been quiet for a while.
Now that the Heavenly Demon had left and only the two of them remained…
“Hey.”
Cale scowled as soon as he heard the way Alberu called out to him.
‘Something must have happened.’
As Cale had a strong suspicion that something had happened…
“A quest popped up.”
A quest.
There should be only one quest for Alberu right now.
“Is it the Hero Quest?”
There was a reason he was thinking this way.
Ooooooooong-
The sword dangling on Alberu’s hip…
The Sun Sword.
The sword with the power of the Sun God that only someone with the qualifications of a hero could use.
That sword was shaking intensely.
Cale finally realized that Alberu’s body was faintly glowing.
Alberu looked at Cale.
Cale had asked if it was the Hero Quest.
Alberu responded to that question.
“No.”
‘Excuse me?’
Before Cale could say anything at this unexpected response…
“…It is a Sun God quest.”
Alberu answered him.
“Is it a quest from the Sun God as the owner of the Sun Sword?”
“No.”
“Excuse me?”
“The real Sun God.”
‘……Huh?’
Cale subconsciously answered.
“…The Sun God we know?”
Nod. Alberu nodded his head and looked up at the sky.
Chhhhhh-
A strange mechanical noise that only he could hear…
The sliced and ripped half-transparent quest window…
Riiiiiip-
The quest window was disappearing in real time.
It was as if something that should not have appeared showed up and was trying to cover up its tracks.
The quest window was a radiant gold window.
< I finally reached you.>
The quest listed underneath that message…
< Oh child who has carried on the power of the sun. >
Alberu was a quarter Dark Elf who had the Sun God’s approval.
He was also the crown prince of the Crossman Royal Family, who was connected to the Sun God through a legend.
There was a reason Alberu was certain this was the real Sun God.
< To the one I am grateful and apologetic toward. >
The Sun God was always apologetic to Alberu.
No, she was always apologetic to Dark Elves and necromancers.
That was why Alberu could tell that this was not a sun god in the game but the real Sun God.
He then realized something.
Now that I think about it…’
Among the gods in this game, there was no God of Chaos, God of Hope, of God of Law and Order.
However, a Sun God existed.
He had not seen the Sun God, but many people in this game believed In the Sun God.
The Sun God had the largest church in the game.
It was a large church that could not be compared to this Church of the God of Chaos.
‘And this world is turning from fake to real.’
Cale had even said that they may be able to communicate with the God of Death through the divine item soon.
‘And this world-’
There were numerous NPCs who worshiped a formless Sun God, a Sun God that they had never met.
Maybe the believers in a world that is turning real were able to call forth the real Sun God?
< Allow me to ask for a favor. >
< Please stop the advent of the God of Chaos. >
Alberu looked at the ripping quest window.
Riiiiiip-
The quest window finally ripped fully and disappeared.
However……
Ooooooooong-
Alberu lowered his head.
For some reason, he felt a familiar power.
No, he felt an aura.
Where would he have felt this power before?
He grabbed his scabbard.
‘It’s warm.’
The Roan Kingdom.
It reminded him of home.
The morning sun that always shined down on him…
The warmth of that sun reached Alberu’s hand.
The quest window was gone, but…
The sun of Roan that Alberu knew, its power was inside this scabbard.
He raised his head.
He may be underneath the grey sky…
But the sun was in his hand.
“Ha.”
Alberu scoffed as he didn’t know how else to express this emotion.
“…Do I really need to become a hero?”
He said that and looked at Cale.
Cale already had a decent understanding about what was going on.
He had already learned that through this plan to advent the God of Chaos, this world was becoming real and going through multiple dimensions and connections to reach a god.
Cale said just one thing.
“Jackpot.”
Alberu scowled as he looked at Cale’s bubbly face.
“This is driving me nuts.”
Alberu was feeling annoyed for some reason.
Regardless of how Alberu felt, the scabbard in his hand contained the power of the sun.
It was a power that would not be dyed by the night.
* * *
“The Devil’s Boundary?”
“Yes. We need to go to the Devil’s Boundary.”
“That place is where the person who carries the will of the Sun God and the divine item, the Sun Sword is located?”
“Yes ma’am.”
The Holy Maiden stood up.
The church’s highest-ranked High-ranking position approached her.
Sir Boltien.
In the past, when Cale looted the Church of the Sun God in the Western Empire and fought against Bishop Serisa in the Academy…
This was the Holy Knight who had been there.
“I will be with you, my lady.”
The Holy Maiden of the Church of the Sun God and a Holy Knight.
The two of them headed toward the Devil’s Boundary as representatives.
They moved efficiently without any hesitation.
* * *
“Hey Choi Han, let’s hurry!”
Raon and Choi Han looked up at the sky.
The sun had set and the sky was slowly turning dark.
Night was coming.
“Our human is obviously waiting for us to get there quickly! We need to go and be by his side before he coughs up blood and faints!”
Choi Han, who had been moving quickly at Raon’s urging, suddenly stopped.
Swooooooosh-
The Root of Beginning…
He could see it in the distance.
This was where they were to wait for Cale.
“Hmm?”
He then flinched.
– I’m going invisible!
The Root of Beginning…
There were two users there.
“Kahahaha!”
“I’m recording.”
“Kahahaha!”
There was one weird person and another person ignoring him.
Choi Han hesitated for a moment before approaching them.
“Huh?”
And the two users… The Crazed Attention Seeker’s eyes sparkled while looking at Choi Han.
It was the appearance of a new NPC in the Devil’s Boundary.
Why did it have to be Choi Han, who couldn’t act at all, and the always bright Raon?
The user who was known for his bizarre broadcasts appeared in front of a human and a young Dragon.
The Holy Maiden and the Holy knight would soon arrive as well.
A large playing field that Cale had no idea about was being created here.
