Trash of the Count’s Family Part 2 Chapter 403: You dare to smack me in the back? (6)

Cale was lying on a bed.

“Haaaaa.”

“Why are you sighing?”

Queen Tamahi looked at Cale after hearing the question.

Cale was comfortably lying on the bed, covered in layers of bandages, with a blanket all the way up to his chest.

His sparkling eyes were looking at her.

He seemed to be in a good mood.

“…I don’t know if this is really okay.”

She was feeling uneasy.

“You will basically be sharing a bed with the enemy.”

The wanderers, Cho and Ryun.

She was feeling uneasy sending Cale and Eruhaben with the two of them.

“Yes, your Majesty! That is why it is great.”

Cale answered extremely cheerfully.

He truly seemed excited.

“…Are you not nervous?”

“Not really?”

Cale had no reason to be nervous.

‘I’ll just run away if things don’t work out.’

He was confident that he could escape.

He had even less reasons to be scared with an ancient Dragon who had a thousand years of experience by his side.

“Please don’t worry, your Majesty.”

Cale was smiling brightly as he responded.

Of course, he looked like a zombie with his fake injuries and the bandages all around him, but…

“I’ll properly fool them. I’ll make sure that the two sides fight against each other until the Holy Land is completely destroyed. Hahaha!”

Queen Tamahi relaxed a bit after seeing his completely bright expression before her face stiffened again.

“Cho is one thing but I don’t know if you will be able to fool Ryun completely. You need to make her fight against the side of chaos as well.”

Ryun seemed to believe the Queen but was still acting cautiously. Would she try to have a big fight with the Church of the God of Chaos?

“Heh.”

Cale smiled oddly at that moment.

“Your Majesty.”

He continued in a low voice.

“We still have another card up our sleeves, do we not?”

Cale looked to the side.

The Queen looked there as well.

“…….”

On that side was a man who, despite standing there leaning with his arms crossed, still gave off the vibe of a masterpiece work of art.

Ancient Dragon Eruhaben.

He tilted his head to the side.

“That final move is for me to do. Do you think that I would fail?”

The wanderers, Cho and Ryun.

The final move to fool them…

That was up to Eruhaben.

The Queen shook her head.

“No, sir.”

She didn’t think that the Dragon in front of her would fail.

Honestly speaking, she thought both Cale and Eruhaben would do great jobs.

“Regardless of that, Ryun seems to be an extremely calculated individual. I am just worried that she may remain calm and rational even against that final move.”

“Well…”

Cale shrugged his shoulders.

“We just need to follow the plan despite not knowing how it will end up. However, my instincts are telling me that the final move will work.”

“Mm. I will trust you.”

She just decided to trust them.

Knock knock.

She heard the Chief of Staff’s voice outside the door.

“It is time, your Majesty.”

“Your Majesty.”

Cale made a request to the Queen.

“We will head out in about ten minutes.”

“I understand.”

The Queen decided to go deal with the wanderers first.

Cale was currently in this treatment room under the guise of healing his injuries and changing his bandages before heading toward the Devil’s Boundary.

“Shall I let them know?”

Cale nodded his head at Eruhaben’s question.

He needed the ten minutes to contact the others.

* * *

“I’m here.”

At the Cotton Candy Castle, the center of the Seventh Evil.

Two people stood up after hearing Rosalyn’s voice.

It was Alberu and the Heavenly Demon.

“Have a safe trip! I’ll go later with Choi Han!”

Raon, On, and Hong saw them off.

“…….”

Of course, baby Dragon Eden Miru was with them as well.

Eden Miru let out a sigh.

It was because Raon kept petting his head.

“I’ll take good care of Eden Miru! Hehe!”

Eden Miru couldn’t even sigh this time.

He just looked away from Rosalyn, Alberu, and the Heavenly Demon, who were all smiling at him.

“By the way.”

The Heavenly Demon stepped on top of the teleportation magic circle and asked Alberu a question.

“Didn’t you say that you cannot teleport inside the Devil’s Boundary?”

“That’s right. We need to teleport to an area near the border of the Devil’s Boundary and then walk inside.”

“What kind of place is it?”

Alberu looked at Rosalyn.

Rosalyn answered the Heavenly Demon in his place.

“It is a graveyard for the shunned.”

As an odd glimmer appeared on the Heavenly Demon’s face…

Paaaat!

There was a bright light and four people headed toward the border of the Devil’s Boundary.

There were four ways to enter the Devil’s Boundary.

They moved to one of those four places.

* * *

“The two of them are best friends?”

“Yes.”

The Queen politely answered Ryun’s question.

Ryun’s gaze headed toward the guard knight coming out of the open treatment room door.

Eruhaben was walking toward her while carrying Cale.

– Who knew I would be carrying a youngster like you at my age?

Ryun asked once more without knowing what Eruhaben said to Cale.

“…He’s just an ordinary guard knight?”

“Yes, ma’am. He applied to be a Palace Guard around the time that this attendant joined the Royal Palace. They worked together in Sir Hin Pao’s Palace and he rotated as one of my guard knights as well.”

Queen Tamahi continued to speak.

“This attendant only calms down a bit when he is near so we had no choice but to make him stay by the attendant’s side.”

“…I see.”

“Yes.”

Ryun looked at Eruhaben with an odd gaze.

The black-haired man wearing a typical Royal Palace Guard uniform.

‘Something is weird.’

She had not noticed it earlier because she had a lot of information to confirm earlier, but…

‘This guard knight-

Is a bit odd.’

Looking past his extremely beautiful face, the vibe he gave off, the way he walked, there were many things about him that gave her an odd feeling.

‘Yeah.’

Ryun realized the reason she felt this way.

‘He carries himself like a noble.’

He gave off the same dignity of a patriarch of a noble family who had carried down traditions for hundreds of years.

He gave off elegance that automatically came to him even without having to learn it. And the majestic force he gave off…

All those things were not usually found among guard knights.

‘Mm. She doesn’t seem to be lying.’

Queen Tamahi did not seem to be lying about this guard knight.

‘She has no reason to do so.’

To openly lie like this?

The Queen should know better than anybody else that she would not be able to deal with the fallout.

In that case-’

Ryun’s eyes started to glow oddly.

‘There’s only one explanation.’

If this guy was not a guard knight and actually a spy who stealthily infiltrated the Royal Palace…

This person could only have one identity.

‘The Church of the God of Chaos.’

It was highly likely that he was one of them.

‘To do something at that scale and just disappear? That makes no sense.’

Ryun’s gaze heavily sank down.

The Church of the God of Chaos had secretly prepared to trick and betray the Five Colors Bloods.

For them to do something like that and just disappear afterward…did not make sense.

‘It is more likely that they had a spy hidden in the palace so that they could keep an eye on the Lan Kingdom and our Five Colors Bloods.’

In order to do that, where would be best for the Church of the God of Chaos to hide their spy?

‘…The only person the witness can rely on.’

Yes. The sole witness who convulsed every time he thought of the God of Chaos… If someone near him was the spy of the Church of the God of Chaos, that person would be able to meet with the Lan Queen and the wanderers to easily assess the current situation.

“… Ryun!”

“Ah.”

Ryun stopped thinking and flinched.

“What are you doing?”

Cho’s face looked extremely annoyed.

“Mm.”

The attendant and the guard knight had arrived in front of them already.

The Queen was speaking to the guard knight.

“Support the two of them as best as you can. But your main task is to take good care of this child.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

The guard knight showed respect to the Queen with a solemn look on his face.

‘Isn’t it too solemn?’

Despite the order being not that important, the guard knight’s face was too seriously solemn and determined.

‘It is as if he had a different mission.’

As the suspicion grew deeper in Ryun’s eyes….

“Ryun! What the hell are you thinking about?”

She quickly stopped thinking at Cho’s comment.

‘Yeah. It is just a suspicion for now.’

She could not stop everything because of a suspicion.

‘That guard might just be an ordinary person.

Ryun still maintained some suspicions but decided to move according to the plan.

“Let’s go.”

Oooooo-

Cho got on a magic circle created by a Lan mage and motioned with his fingers.

The attendant and the guard knight were already by Cho’s side.

“Yes. Let’s go.”

Ryun followed him onto the magic circle as well.

She recalled the message she received after reporting the situation to the Five Colors Bloods.

The Church of the God of Chaos.

As their biggest ally and potential enemy…

She needed permission from her superiors to fight them.

‘We’ve had a lot of questions regarding the actions of the God of Chaos these days. This is good.’

There were only three people in the household who could give her permission.

The three people with the Five-Color Grade unique powers.

‘You and Cho have Transparent Grade powers, but the two of you together are easily at the Five-Colors Grade. The two of you should be able to deal with most things even in the Holy Land of the God of Chaos.’

Cho and Ryun.

The two of them were fraternal twins with opposite unique powers, but their total strength was rated to be in the Five-Colors Grade when they fought together.

‘Ryun. You are a smart kid so stop Cho from making rushed decisions. We trust your judgment so act freely as you see fit.’

Her superior gave her permission to head to the Holy Land.

They also left all judgment to her.

‘Yeah. Let’s be smart.’

Ryun felt the magic circle activate as she finished her thoughts.

She then heard her younger brother, Cho, saying one last thing toward the Queen.

“Hey Queen.”

Cho… He didn’t belittle the Queen but he was not showing any respect toward the Queen because of this incident.

He warned her.

“I’m watching you.”

The Queen’s face turned dark.

She could see it despite the bright light.

“Don’t forget that your life as well as the life of this whole country can end at any moment.”

Cho’s voice did not have any anger or annoyance.

He was simply stating a fact.

“No more mistakes will be tolerated.”

After that…

Paaaat!

The twin wanderers, the guard knight, and the attendant disappeared with a bright light.

“…….”

Queen Tamahi recalled the gazes of the two people standing behind the wanderers.

That gaze that looked antsy to smack Cho on the back of his head…

“Pfft.”

The Queen let out a quiet chuckle.

“How entertaining.”

She then looked toward the southwest toward the Devil’s Boundary.

* * *

The Devil’s Boundary.

This was the name of a field with multiple dangerous terrains such as a jungle and a desert.

‘Desert, jungle, underground, labyrinth. All sorts of things are there.’

Alberu had told Cale about the Devil’s Boundary.

‘Each region has a leader and numerous factions.’

The peculiarity of the Devil’s Boundary was that you could not teleport inside it.

This lack of teleport, as well as the rough terrain, made it a place with significant challenges in movement.

‘People don’t approach the Eight Evils because their levels are too low and they are scared. But users don’t go toward the Devil’s Boundary for a different reason.’

‘First is because it is hard to move around.’

‘Second, it is not that useful.’

Most importantly, not many quests popped up in this area.

‘It is a place for the shunned ones of New World to gather.’

The ostracized races.

People who had to leave their homelands for different reasons and had to hide somewhere.

Even criminals.

All sorts of people were gathered here, making there be lots of incidents. Many parts were basically lawless areas.

Unless someone was a veteran, the Devil’s Boundary was not an easy place to approach.

‘The Devil’s Boundary is also hostile toward outsiders and frequently attacks them.’

It was called an extremely hostile area.

Paaaat!

Cale arrived at a border of the Devil’s Boundary with a bright light.

Out of the four entrances, the one the wanderers chose-

“Haaa, I really don’t like this place because there are so many bugs and grass.”

It was the jungle.

A thin and shabby fence was visible.

This was the border.

The jungle was visible past this border that anybody could easily cross.

“It can’t be helped. This is the fastest route.”

As Ryun mentioned, going through the Jungle was the fastest way to reach the Holy Land.

Cale buried his face in Eruhaben’s back and covered his smile.

‘His highness should have arrived as well.’

Alberu’s side should have already entered the Devil’s Boundary.

“We know the general location so let’s head that way.”

Ryun took the lead before turning around.

“Please stand in the middle.”

“Yes ma’am.”

Eruhaben stood in between Cho and Ryun after receiving her order.

“Don’t try anything funny. I suggest you just quietly follow us.”

“Yes ma’am.”

Eruhaben answered without any complaints.

“Ryun! Why do you need to do all of this?”

Cho asked but Ryun continued to look at Eruhaben with a suspicious gaze before turning her head and starting to walk.

“Ryun! We need to hurry!”

“I know.”

She asked Eruhaben a question.

“A guard knight of the Royal Palace should be able to do some qinggong. We are going to move quickly. Do you think you can keep up?”

“I will try my best, ma’am.”

“That sounds great.”

Ryun gently kicked off the ground and pushed forward.

The speed continued to increase.

Shhhhhhhh-

It was the jungle, but movement was not difficult because they were at the edges.

Of course, branches, leaves, vines, grass, bugs, and all sorts of things got in her way, but…

Craaaaaaack.

Everything froze.

Slash.

Then broke apart while still frozen.

Ryun continued to peek behind her as she moved.

“…….”

The guard knight was trying his best to maintain his breathing as he followed.

He seemed to be following with just his physical abilities without using internal ki.

“Ryun! This guy is doing well so just hurry up! If all else fails, I’m going to drag these two fuckers!”

Ryun nodded her head at Cho’s urging and looked forward again.

Of course, she gave the guard knight one last look.

Her gaze was cold as if to warn him.

“…….”

Eruhaben just kept his head down and ran hard.

Ryun’s gaze slowly moved away.

But he still felt Cho’s gaze behind him.

– Cale. It is getting dark.

Eruhaben looked around.

The Devil’s Boundary.

The reason the Jungle was known as a dangerous place was because paths disappeared the more you walked into it and all sorts of natural terrain blocked your paths and bugs, poisonous plants, animals, and monsters hindered you, but…

The Jungle was also full of tall trees that were multiple times the height of humans.

This place got darker the farther you went in.

It wasn’t as dark as night, but the sunlight did not reach a lot of places despite it being the middle of the day.

– Cale. Give me a sign when the time is right.

Once Cale gave Eruhaben a sign while being carried…

– You need me to attack that guy, Cho, right?

Eruhaben would ambush Cho.

Then Cale would immediately use the Dominating Aura.

– It should be fine if I turn one of his arms into dust.

Everything would happen almost instantly.

While Cho and Ryun had their guards down…before they could even recognize what happened…

‘So we need to make sure they let their guard down.’

To be more specific, he was going to get them distracted so that they focus on something else.

Cale saw a mark on a tree.

It was the mark that they had agreed upon.

Pat.

Once Cale sent Eruhaben the first sign…

Grrrrrrr—!

The growling noises of animals came from deep within the darkness of the Jungle.

Crack. Crack!

Something was breaking trees as it walked out of the darkness.

“Kehehe.”

The large existence licking its lips was not an animal.

Ryun mumbled in a low voice.

“…It’s a Beast person.”

A Beast person.

One of the forces that built a home within the Jungle of the Devil’s Boundary.

Beast people were not originally a race that was ostracized in New World, but these ones were different.

The Beast people who now lived in the Devil’s Boundary were ones who did not follow the rules of New World and decided to follow their instincts.

Grrrrrrr-

A Tiger.

Ryun’s gaze sank low after seeing this large-sized obstacle in front of her.

“Hehe-”

The Tiger licked its lips as if it was looking at prey.

Flap.

A crow that had been on a branch flew up into the sky and disappeared.

Cale watched the disappearing mark and then looked forward.

Grrrrrr—!

‘Ah, our Tiger Tribe leader Gashan, a Tiger overflowing with dignity.’

He had gone berserk for the first time in a long while to pretend to be a vicious beast.

The Devil’s Boundary.

Four of Cale’s people had come to this place.

Alberu, Rosalyn, the Heavenly Demon… And Gashan.

“Ah, looks like dinner is here! Kahahahahah!”

Gashan was putting up an act in front of the wanderers as he thought to himself.

‘Run away as soon as Eruhaben-nim launches an attack, right?’

Gashan was quite skilled at running away after having lived for such a long time.

It was at that moment.

“What the hell?! What’s up with this damn animal?!”

Cho brushed past Cale and walked forward.

He was extremely annoyed.

Smile.

The corners of Cale’s lips curled up.

“Cho. I’ll take care of it. You stay there.”

The moment Ryun said that…

Pat pat.

Cale sent Eruhaben the sign.

Letting down their guard…

It only had to be for a moment.

In that short moment that a single Beast person that the wanderers were looking down on appeared…

That was enough.

Cale started to see white gold dust.
