<2 roles for 1 person and the chaotic Demon World (9)>
Raon.
“Human, Sui Khan hurt his arm but you drip out a ton of blood and faint. What kind of thoughts are going through your mind as you see his injured arm? Human, have you ever thought about the emotional damage your injuries would cause on others?”
Hong.
“I’m curious to hear his perspective on the matter, nya.”
And finally…
“… Haaaa.”
Yet another sigh from On.
Cale kept his mouth closed and thought to himself.
‘Why are these kids so good at talking?’
He was surprised at the words Raon and Hong were using.
‘Well, I guess they are smart kids.’
Cale thought these kids were better at talking than he was.
“Pfft.”
At that moment… He heard a laugh.
“Hehe.”
Sui Khan ate another piece of apple pie as he laughed.
He chuckled even more once they made eye contact.
“…….”
As Cale was about to frown…
“Hey Sui Khan.”
Raon commented in a low voice.
“Do you really think this is the time to laugh?”
Sui Khan flinched.
Hong didn’t care and slowly walked up to Sui Khan before patting Sui Khan’s leg with his front paw.
“This is not the time to laugh, nya.”
“…….”
Sui Khan stopped laughing.
“Haaaa.”
On sighed once more and neither Cale nor Sui Khan could laugh.
They looked so confused and unsettled but they could not say anything.
“Even we try our best not to get hurt, nya.”
It was because of what On said.
“…….”
“…….”
The two of them could not say anything.
“You should know how to cherish your own body, nya.”
On’s continued comments put the two of them at a loss for words and their shoulders slightly curled in.
On did not say anything else after seeing that.
It was because of what she saw.
“The blood is not stopping, nya.”
“Mm! This is an issue!”
On and Raon turned serious and Cale looked concerned as well.
The injury to Sui Khan’s arm was not serious.
It wasn’t a deep cut and it wasn’t injured multiple times.
Normally, it was not something that would be called a serious injury.
Just once.
The fact that it was a clean cut that was not very deep showed that Sui Khan tried his best to look after his own body during an urgent situation.
“You said it was someone at Choi Jung Soo’s level?”
“Yeah.”
Sui Khan looked at the blood that was starting to show up on the tightly bound bandage and answered.
“I made a mistake and did not manage to dodge one attack. That’s how I ended up with this.”
Sui Khan’s lips were blue and his face was pale.
It felt as if he got the chills.
Even though it was not a deep cut…
“But the blood won’t stop no matter how much I try to stop it.”
It was still a serious situation because the blood was still dripping.
Although Cale and Sui Khan were calm, it was not that calm of a situation.
Peek.
Cale looked at the dark night before speaking.
“Mm. Do you think it was a sword art or an ability?”
An injury that would not stop bleeding…
Was it the opponent’s sword art or a special ability?
If it was a sword art, it was highly likely to be the sword art of the Church of the God of Chaos, but they still needed to be cautious.
“I don’t know.”
Sui Khan shook his head.
“There’s not enough to go off of.”
They didn’t have enough to make a decision.
“Mm.”
As Cale fell into thought for a moment…
“What about Choi Jung Soo?”
Cale answered Sui Khan’s question without any hesitation.
“He’s currently missing.”
“Did Choi Han go?”
“Yes he did.”
“To the Demon World?” “Yes. Toward the North. He’s been out of contact since informing us that the Church of the God of Chaos was in the Demon World.”
Cale and Sui Khan made eye contact at that moment.
The Demon World.
The Church of the God of Chaos.
Sui Khan thought about these core keywords before speaking.
“Are they here?”
It was at that moment.
“Cale-nim.”
They had to stop talking because Clopeh showed up from the darkness.
Cale asked as soon as he saw him.
“That took you a while.”
Clopeh had not returned for two hours.
“My apologies, Cale-nim.”
But Cale wasn’t blaming him.
It had taken longer than expected but it was something that was worth the time.
“Did you find a path?”
Where should they go with the injured Sui Khan?
Cale contemplated before coming up with an answer.
Diorelle City.
He thought they should go into the city with the Lord’s Castle.
‘That’s where the Demon King’s confidants are.’
It would make things complicated if Cale’s identity or the existence of the Arbitrators was revealed to them, but…
‘I knew the Church of the God of Chaos and the Five Colors Bloods would not be able to run wild there either.’
Based on how things were going…
Both the Church of the God of Chaos and the Five Colors Bloods…
They each had their own schemes.
‘It’s only the Demon King who is going to end up smacked in the back.’
That was why the Church of the God of Chaos and the wanderers will both try to avoid the gaze of the Demon King.
As such, staying near one of the Demon King’s close confidants should be the best way to avoid the enemies’ gazes.
“Yes, Cale-nim.”
Cale nodded his head at Clopeh’s short response.
It was late at night.
Cale had told Clopeh to find them a path into the castle with Sui Khan.
‘They said the passage was pretty relaxed even at night at Diorelle, but…’
Ever since the former territory lord, Count Ruiphe, went missing, night access was restricted for everybody except miners and merchants with permission.
Outsiders like Cale’s group would need to go through an extensive process to get into the castle at night.
‘Since we have the team leader-’
It was best to infiltrate the castle as quietly as possible to find a place to stay.
That was why Cale had asked Clopeh to find a way to stealthily get over the castle wall or some other way.
“Please follow me.”
Clopeh had returned with a solution.
“Since everybody is exhausted, I found the easiest path that would be most helpful in the future as well.”
“Okay.”
Cale quietly followed behind Clopeh.
He looked at Clopeh, who was leading the way without any hesitation, and thought to himself.
‘This punk is really good at getting things done too.’
Clopeh had his own positives in getting things done that Cale couldn’t expect from Choi Han or Miss Rosalyn.
– Do I need to use magic?
Raon noticed the mood and asked. Cale slightly nodded his head.
Using Raon’s magic to quickly get over the castle wall seemed like a good idea too. Or they could turn invisible.
“…….”
“…….”
They were all silently walking until…
“…….”
Cale truly became at a loss for words.
“Ahem. Hem!”
North, South, East, and West.
As Clopeh let out a fake cough in front of the guard at the East gate…
Shh.
Clopeh handed him a small pouch.
“Ahem!”
The guard flinched after looking inside before looking at his partner and smiling.
The partner also smiled and extended his hand.
Screeeech.
A small side door next to the castle gate opened.
It was a small door usually used by the guards.
Smile.
Clopeh smiled politely before leisurely walking into the small door.
“…….”
“…….”
“…….”
“…….”
Cale, Sui Khan, On, and Hong followed behind him with blank looks on their faces.
It was at that moment.
“Ah, hold on.”
One of the guards pulled something out of his pocket.
It was a pile of papers.
“Here.”
“Thank you very much.”
Clopeh politely bowed before pulling out another pouch from his pocket.
“Ahem. Hem!”
The smile on the faces of the guards became even bigger.
“…….”
Cale blankly watched before following Clopeh’s gesture to keep walking.
They entered a residential area and stopped in front of an average looking residence.
“Ahem.”
An old man standing there seemed to recognize Clopeh.
Shh.
Clopeh pulled yet another pouch out of his pocket and handed it to the old man.
“Mmph!”
The old man’s eyes opened wide after looking in the pouch.
He looked at Clopeh in shock and Clopeh just covered his mouth with his index finger, and…
“Shh.”
Made a quiet sound.
Nod.
The old man solemnly nodded before handing Clopeh the key and disappearing.
He didn’t even glance at Cale and the others.
– Human, what is going on right now?
The invisible Raon blankly asked but Cale had no time to answer.
Creeeeeak.
Clopeh opened the door with the key and entered the small yet cozy-looking house.
Basic furniture was inside the house but it didn’t have any daily necessities or typical things.
“…Hey, you-”
Cale wanted to ask a question.
‘What the hell did you do for the past two hours?
And you, where did you get so much money-’
But Cale quickly realized it.
‘Oh right, he’s rich.’
Clopeh Sekka.
He was the heir to a famous family in the Paerun Kingdom.
He was wealthy.
He presumed the pouches had gold, silver, or jewels.
Cale was amazed at Clopeh’s thoroughness to prepare such things in advance.
“…How did you know about those people?”
Clopeh smiled and answered Cale’s question.
“In a land where the person in charge has disappeared for a year-”
Without the territory lord…
“I knew there would be greedy people running wild.”
Clopeh was saying that morality was decreasing in Diorelle as if that was to be expected.
“…Mm.”
Cale could not say anything.
It was a logical deduction.
However-
– Human, I have never seen anybody take care of things like this before!
Cale was just surprised at Clopeh’s way of doing things.
Nobody else in Cale’s group did things like this.
“Even if it takes some more time and money, I thought the safest and easiest way was the best.”
2 hours.
Clopeh had completed so many things in that time.
‘Wait, how did he even get a house lined up in just two hours?
This bastard is amazing.’
Cale was amazed.
– Human, I think Clopeh Sekka gets more amazing the crazier he gets!
Raon was amazed as well.
But the amazing things did not stop there.
Shh.
The bundle of papers he had received from the guard earlier…
There were actually three smaller bundles within it.
Clopeh opened two of them on the table.
“Ho-”
Cale was flabbergasted.
Cale’s eyes, with the translation spell Aurora’s mages had cast for him in advance, looked toward Clopeh.
“You crazy bastard-”
That was all he could say.
– Human! It’s the guard schedule at the Lord’s Castle!
Information on the night shift guards at the Lord’s Castle.
– Eek! There’s also information on the people looking after the Lord’s Castle right now!
A list of staff at the Lord’s Castle with their names and respective titles.
The first thing was close to a secret while the second was something they could have gained after some effort.
But both were difficult information for them to gather right now.
They were extremely important information for Cale.
The Church of the God of Chaos.
Demon King.
The wanderers.
It was necessary information for Cale who wanted to mess with all three groups to create chaos.
“…….”
As Cale looked at Clopeh with a complicated gaze… Clopeh smiled gently as he spoke.
He opened the last bundle of papers.
“I prepared all these for your will, Cale-nim.”
Chh!
The final bundle of papers…
“Ha!”
Cale was flabbergasted.
“You really are a crazy bastard.”
This was a compliment.
He truly meant it.
– Human, It’s the name of Count Ruiphe’s collateral line currently residing in the ancient castle!
They believed that Count Ruiphe’s collateral line was working with the Church of the God of Chaos.
The name of that collateral line residing in the ancient castle was now in Cale’s hands.
‘He prepared all of these things in just two hours?’
Clopeh gave a simple response to Cale’s flabbergasted gaze.
“I packed a lot of jewels before coming here.”
Money.
Clopeh was saying money was the answer.
“My family taught me how money can be used from an early age.”
The House of Sekka.
Clopeh had simply learned the ways of using money from them and showcased it magnificently.
Politics and money could not be split and Clopeh, as someone with talent in politics, never forgot about that relationship
“Ha-”
Cale laughed, and…
“…….”
Clopeh just silently looked at Cale.
Cale understood the meaning behind that gaze and scoffed before speaking.
“Good job.”
Clopeh’s eyes clouded over and Cale noticed it as he continued.
He truly meant the words that were now coming out of his mouth.
“It was a good idea to bring you here.”
“!”
Clopeh’s eyes filled with delight.
He could read the sincerity in Cale’s voice.
“Hoo hoo.”
Clopeh could not hold back any longer and quietly chuckled.
“Heh.”
Cale also could not hold back a laugh after seeing the information in his hand.
“Hehe! Using this guard schedule at the Lord’s Castle should make it easy to go loot the secret safe!”
“Hehe! That’s right, nya! We can make a plan, nya!”
“Hoo hoo. We need to calmly look through all the information, nya.”
The children averaging ten-years-old were excited as well.
“…….”
Sui Khan quietly observed it all before looking out the window.
‘Something is weird.’
These guys really were weird.
But he could not share those feelings.
He was suddenly dragged to the bedroom by the children averaging ten-years-old.
It was the only room with a bed.
Sui Khan had to lie down on the bed and stay there with the blanket over him.
“You healed it but the bleeding is not stopping.”
Clopeh’s gaze was extremely scary.
Clopeh had realized he was starting to get Cale’s approval and his eyes were burning up with passion.
His eyes sparkled as he addressed Cale.
“I will look into a way to heal him as well as other information, Cale-nim.”
Clopeh’s eyes were very different from before as he left the house.
His body was thumping with energy as he disappeared into the darkness.
Sui Khan, who had been blankly watching, heard a voice.
“So-”
It was Cale.
“How did you get hurt?”
He asked Sui Khan.
The team leader was not one to beat around the bush.
“The Church of the God of Chaos is planning to use the pollution of chaos to make something called the grey illness that will swallow the Demon World.”
He just stabbed the core of the information to Cale.
“They only spread the seeds of the grey illness for now but it will spread throughout the Demon World at the same time and they plan on healing it to increase their forces in the Demon World. My guess is that it will start here in Diorelle, around the time they choose a new territory lord.
“!”
On’s eyes opened wide.
“I went crazy after seeing a village get destroyed because of a grey illness seed effect test.
He awkwardly smiled and looked at his arm.
“I got hurt. Haha!”
But he soon asked Cale a question with the smile gone from his face.
“Did you save Choi Jung Gun?”
Choi Jung Gun had been attacked by the pollution of chaos.
Asking if Cale found a way to save him was also asking if he could cure the grey illness.
Cale answered that question as if it was obvious.
“Yes, I saved him.”
A smile formed on Sui Khan’s face again
He looked down at his injury and his eyes kept sparkling.
He let out a quiet chuckle and leisurely commented.
“Looks like we will be able to ruin all of those motherfuckers’ plans.”
Cale thought to himself.
‘He’s angry.’
Sui Khan’s eyes were rolled over.
– Human, why are your eyes about 120 degrees rolled over too?
Cale’s eyes were slightly rolled over as well.
Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo had died while leaving only Kim Rok Soo behind.
When he met with Lee Soo Hyuk again, he had a new body. A young body at that.
But that body was injured and it would not stop bleeding.
Cale’s heart was thumping louder than he was thinking after seeing the pale Sui Khan laughing.
– Mm.
Raon stealthily said something to On and Hong.
– I think our human is going to destroy everything this time.
On and Hong just quietly nodded their heads in response.
* * *
Day arrived and Cale headed toward the Lord’s Castle with Clopeh.
“Let me know if Choi Han contacts you.”
Of course, he left a comment for Raon.
“Second bro.”
Clopeh, who was fully dialed into his role, gently commented.
Cale and Clopeh were going to meet with the current Demon King’s close confidants. The plan was to negotiate a deal with them. If things went well, they were planning on confidently visiting the ancient castle.
The smile remained on Clopeh’s face as he continued to speak.
“I have a lot of money. I made sure to pack an endless amount.”
He then added on.
“I can use it as I please, right?”
Cale vigorously nodded his head at Clopeh.
“Yeah! Use it however you want, hyung!”
“Hoo hoo.”
A city of merchants with the territory lord gone…
A place where rules and integrity had disappeared while competition and corruption started to overflow…
Clopeh Sekka, who brought a lot of jewels and gold, no, seriously a ton of jewels and gold in his spatial pocket bag just in case, smiled.
Cale looked at Clopeh with sparkling eyes.
For the first time in his life, this bastard felt extremely reliable.
The chaotic Diorelle…
A crazy wealthy man, Clopeh Sekka, suddenly appeared in this place.
