“Cut the crap.”
Cale did not hide his rude gaze.
A single piece of paper that talked about the people who would die in six months…
The only thing Cale could read were the words that said God of Death.
“Crap? I’m saying you are the best.”
“…….”
“Sorry.”
Seeing Cale silently stare at him, the God of Death raised his hand to admit that he was wrong.
“The God of Chaos do that to you?”
“Mm.”
The God of Death pointed to the part of his body that had turned grey.
“This is from the God of Chaos.”
“And the rest?”
“This arm was the God of War.”
“I guess that makes sense since he should be on the God of Chaos’s side.”
“Yeah. War happens within chaos.”
‘Hey.’
Cale called out to someone inside of him.
‘Mm.’
But this time, none of the ancient powers responded.
“Tsk.”
Cale clicked his tongue.
“You worried about me?”
He just ignored the smiling God of Death’s comment.
‘The God of War.’
Cale had never met the God of War both directly or indirectly, but…
He had heard a lot of stories about that guy.
The Sky Eating Water.
The God of War was the one who named her the Water of Judgment and imprisoned her.
‘And Cotton.’
Cotton, who was currently a part of the Arbitrators alliance, was the Holy Maiden of the God of War.
Well, the former.
‘The current Holy Maiden is someone else.’
Young lady Orsena.
The leader of the faction within the Roan Kingdom’s nobles that was based around the Roan Kingdom’s capital and held a lot of authority.
The Duke’s House of Orsena.
Young lady Orsena had disappeared when the estate was scorched.
‘Mmm.
This is quite complicated.’
To organize all of this…
“That God of War motherfucker is annoying too.”
Yes. That was it.
The God of War was an enemy.
‘Aipotu.’
Aipotu’s World Tree had lost the world to the Dragon Lord and his Dragons.
The Dragon Lord, wanderers, the Saint of the God of Chaos, and the Holy Maiden of the God of War were the ones responsible for throwing the World Tree into a swamp of endless despair.
‘They are all on one side.
Mm.
The God of War, what kind of existence is he?’
But it was impossible for Cale to ever be allies with him.
‘The Sky Eating Water.’
The God of War was the sky that the Sky Eating Water wanted to destroy.
‘It’s understandable that she would go crazy to do that.’
She had lived a suppressed life because of the God of War. She barely managed to escape but did not find happiness there either.
As long as the Sky Eating Water was Cale’s ally, the God of War was locked in as an enemy.
‘But it’s not like I’ll run into him?’
Honestly speaking, Cale was just a spectator in this war within the World of the Gods.
Not only could he not go to the World of the Gods, he had no reason to get involved.
The God of Death let out a sigh.
“That’s right. War, that bastard is really annoying.”
But for some reason, Cale felt like he would end up getting involved somehow.
“But what good would it do for someone who is going to perish to worry about gods fighting against each other?”
Smile. Cale scowled after hearing the God of Death say that with a smile.
“Ha. How annoying.”
He glared at the God of Death with an extremely disrespectful and twisted gaze.
“Perish, my ass.”
Cale did not like how the bastard who made him do all sorts of things and got him involved in so many other things was peacefully talking about perishing.
It annoyed him a lot.
“You can’t rest until I get to be a slacker.”
Cale threw the paper with the list toward the God of Death as he continued.
“It’s obviously the Demon World or the Hunters who found the way to make gods perish.”
The God of Death silently looked at Cale for a bit before answering with a smile.
“It’s probably not the Demon World.”
“Why?”
“The God of Justice has disappeared.”
It sounded completely unrelated, but Cale’s eyes clouded over.
‘The God of Justice.’
The five ancient gods.
Hope.
Balance.
Chaos.
Justice.
Injustice.
Justice was one of those five.
He……
‘The god who gave a mission to the first ever wanderer.’
Furthermore.
‘That was when the first wanderer disappeared.’
In addition-
‘The God of Justice hasn’t said anything about the mission or whether or not it was a success or a failure.’
And…
‘The first wanderer is the leader of the Five Colors Bloods.’
Choi Jung Gun supposedly lost consciousness because of the pollution of chaos after revealing that fact.
Cale opened his mouth.
“Is the mission the God of Justice gave the first wanderer making a god perish?”
Nod.
The God of Death nodded his head with a stiff look on his face.
Cale opened his mouth to speak.
“If the God of Justice has disappeared, how did you find out about the mission?”
And…
“So can we consider the God of Justice to be on the same side as the God of Chaos now?”
The God of Death sighed at those two questions.
“I don’t think this issue is that simple.”
He looked extremely tired.
“I sent a subordinate to visit the residence of the God of Justice. But there were no traces. The God of Chaos was causing a shitshow so we didn’t even notice that the God of Justice disappeared.”
“So?”
“However, the God of Justice left a message.”
Snap!
The God of Death snapped.
Swoooooooosh-
A gentle breeze blew through what looked like a modern office until clunk, a cabinet opened and a piece of paper landed in front of Cale’s eyes.
< The World of the Gods is full of injustice. I will lay down the mace of justice. >
Cale clenched his eyes shut.
“Ha-”
‘Seriously?’
“These motherfucking gods are so annoying.”
He couldn’t help but swear.
“I’m a god too but gods really are annoying.”
God of Death agreed with Cale.
“Haaaaa.”
“Ha.”
Both of them continued to sigh.
Cale pressed on his throbbing temples and started to speak.
“You found this and then saw your name on the Book of Death?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s why you think that the mission was the death of a god?”
“Correct.”
“And the God of Justice hasn’t sided with Chaos and is just missing?”
“Yeah.”
Balance and chaos.
He thought that these two sides were fighting each other, but this crazy justice bastard was doing something on his own.
“Then what about the first wanderer? Isn’t that bastard with Chaos?”
The God of Death calmly answered the question Cale asked in frustration.
“Chaos and Justice. It is possible he’s working with both.”
The God of Death looked at Cale.
“I called you here to tell you about the first wanderer. You don’t care about the dealings of the World of the Gods anyway, right?”
“Yeah. That’s right.”
Cale truly had no thoughts or abilities to get involved in the war in the World of the Gods.
‘I’d have to be crazy to fight against a god.’
He would be the shrimp that exploded in the middle of a fight between whales.
“Hehe. I knew it.’”
The God of Death laughed as if he was having fun and continued to speak.
“The first wanderer has existed for the longest time after the ancient Gods. He was in the World of the Gods even before me.”
He was supposed to become a god but the first wanderer rejected it.
“Honestly speaking, the first wanderer was only receiving jobs from the ancient Gods from the moment I existed. I have not seen him very much.”
Cale carefully paid attention to the stories about the first wanderer.
He was an enemy Cale would eventually face.
He might be even more dangerous than the omnipotent god that they were trying to create.
He was the dark shadow behind everything.
“Apparently his completion rate was 100% before that last request from the God of Justice before he disappeared. He’s apparently very strong.”
The God of Death stopped for a moment before adding on.
“He’s said to be very wise. Apparently his intellect was even greater than his strength.”
The God of Death stopped again before staring at Cale.
“What is it?”
Cale asked with a scowl and the God of Death smiled.
“It’s nothing. Anyway, the thing I wanted to tell you was that there was a reason the first wanderer rejected becoming a god.”
Having someone so strong rejecting the position of a god, others couldn’t help but ask him about it. The first wanderer would always just smile and say that he had a different goal.
Cale quietly mumbled after hearing that.
“A different goal.”
What could be a goal greater than being a god?
“I don’t think that goal would be the omnipotent god.”
Cale looked at the God of Death and the God of Death agreed.
“Yeah. I agree. I think that the omnipotent god is also just a step toward his goal.”
“Mm.”
Cale crossed his arms and scowled.
‘Let’s keep things simple.’
The goal was simple.
‘Stop the omnipotent god and destroy all of the Hunter households so that they can’t do things like that ever again.’
That was all.
‘All that is left are the Transparent Bloods, Five Colors Bloods, and the omnipotent god.’
The problem was that these two households and the omnipotent god were much harder to deal with than the other three households.
‘Well, I’ll take care of things step by step.’
Cale stopped thinking.
The God of Death started to talk again.
“Well, that’s all I have to say. Actually, there’s one more. You need to know where King Zed Crossman will die, right?”
Zed Crossman.
Crown prince Alberu’s father and the currently missing King of Roan.
The time of his death was clear but the location supposedly kept changing.
“I think I figured out why I can’t figure out the location.”
After saving Choi Jung Gun, rescuing this King was the next task.
He had made a promise to Alberu.
“The King’s location is constantly changing. The dimension keeps changing.”
“So?”
Cale knew that the God of Death was not here to say something so useless.
Smile.
The God of Death smiled.
“Hey. You fainted in a game but I could call you here?”
“I’m sure it’s possible. That game is turning into a real world now.”
Cale thought about the divine item in his pocket.
“I should be able to contact you in the game now.”
Cale then added on.
“Is his Majesty in the game too?”
“Ah. Seriously?!”
The God of Death grumbled.
“I was building up to it. Why did you have to find the answer so quickly?”
“…….”
Cale quietly stared and the God of Death let out a fake cough before adding on.
“It looks like he is changing dimensions every so often during the day, but during the night…”
He pointed at Cale.
“New World. He seems to be in the game.”
They had no idea how Zed Crossman was logging into the game.
They knew nothing about his current situation.
How he was traveling through dimensions…
They had no way of knowing anything, but…
‘I’m sure the answer is out there if we look.’
If it is within the game…
They were totally capable of finding him.
“Although I know he is in the game, even I can’t tell his exact location.”
The God of Death continued.
“We are not fully connected to that world yet.”
Cale nodded his head at that statement. He then responded.
“I presume that world will become more real as time passes. Let me know as soon as you get information on his Majesty. You should be able to send simple messages through the mirror now, right?”
“Yeah. I think we should at least be able to send messages through the mirror.”
Cale heard the God of Death’s answer and asked.
“You need anything else?”
“No?”
“Then let me go.”
Cale openly demanded it.
“I need to hurry out of here.”
It was a reasonable request.
That chaos…
Could Cale’s group handle the chaos with all of the believers of the Church of the God of Chaos and the two wanderers while protecting the sacrifices and Church of the Sun God?
‘I’m sure they will handle it.’
Alberu Crossman seemed to have woken up and he had the smart Dragons as well as reliable allies like Rosalyn.
‘But I still need to go.’
Cale firmly demanded to the God of Death.
“Let me go.”
Smile.
But the God of Death smiled.
He smiled extremely wickedly.
“Sorry.”
“What?”
As Cale started to scowl…
Snap!
The God of Death snapped again.
Swoooooooosh-
A breeze blew in and Cale noticed everything going dark.
“Three days will have passed once you wake up.”
3 Days.
Everything would have passed by then.
‘Fuck.’
Cale couldn’t hide his annoyance.
He glared disrespectfully at the half-dead looking God of Death as his vision became blurry.
“Annoying bastard.”
“Wow. You’re calling a god a bastard now?”
As the God of Death gasped and looked at the disappearing Cale…
Cale’s voice reached his ears.
It was an extremely insolent voice.
“I’m going to steal the method of making a god perish so you work forever without dying.”
With those last words,
Swoooooooosh-
Cale’s existence disappeared from the office.
“Ha, haha-”
The God of Death sat alone in the office and laughed.
“He’s such a kind soul.”
Cale Henituse, Kim Rok Soo was such a kind soul.
His voice sounded insolent, but the thought behind it was clear.
“…He’s going to save me?”
Save a god who was fated to perish?
“Funny bastard.”
The God of Death sighed.
“I don’t really want to live though.”
Deep fatigue was visible under his eyes.
He got up from his seat, opened the office blinds and window.
“I’m getting tired of this.”
The World of the Gods, which had been at least visibly beautiful, was burning and rotting.
The World of the Gods had split into two factions.
It was a battlefield.
Balance and chaos.
The two sides were in deep conflict with each other.
“Seriously, these motherfucking gods are annoying.”
The God of Death was helping Balance for now, but…
He didn’t like Balance either.
He really did not like the way she was extremely narrow-minded and trying so hard to not let go of her authority.
“I should just-”
He mumbled in a low voice.
“Flip shit over?”
Should I just mess with everything?
Death.
That name was definitely not a light one.
The other gods, because they had not perished until now, treated death as not their issue because it did not pertain to them.
But now there was a way to make a god perish.
That was a form of death.
Gods could die as well.
“…….”
He was silent for a moment before smiling.
“Okay, I’ll think about it if I don’t end up perishing!”
He spoke lightheartedly and mischievously before leaving the office.
It was time to fight again.
* * *
Cale regained consciousness.
But he could not open his eyes.
He felt something soft behind his back.
He seemed to be lying on a pretty nice bed.
He could not open his eyes.
He was hungry but he could not open his eyes.
Huff huff.
Someone was huffing.
It felt familiar.
It was Raon.
Raon kept mumbling.
“It’s been three days. Both our human and the kind crown prince have not woken up for three days.”
Huff huff.
“I’m going to destroy everything! I’m going to destroy the God of Chaos, the Church, and those Hunters too! I’m going to destroy all the gods as well!”
Huff huff.
Raon was very angry.
He was relieved that Raon wasn’t crying, but he sounded like his nose was stuffy.
He probably cried a lot already.
Cale felt like he could not open his eyes.
It was at that moment.
Huff huff?
“Hmm?”
Raon tilted his head in confusion.
Alberu and Cale…
Raon slowly turned his gaze from his spot between the two unconscious people.
Cale.
He moved toward the bed Cale was on.
Push.
Cale felt the bed tilting to one side.
He got goosebumps all over.
He did not open his eyes.
He just quietly laid there breathing.
It was at that moment.
Huff huff.
He heard the huffing by his ear.
“Human, why are you pretending to be asleep?”
‘Eek!’
Cale got super shocked and gasped as he opened his eyes.
