The Saint started to think.
‘Who is this crazy bastard wearing a mask?
Who could it be?
Where did he come from?’
Something else popped up in his mind instead of all those questions.
‘What is this guy?’
Who was this existence?
“Saint-nim, in that guy’s hand!”
“T, the Holy Text-”
The bishop and the other top executives looked at the masked man who suddenly appeared with chaos visible on their faces.
They seemed to not notice that the area around them had turned extremely chaotic.
It could not be helped.
“Hoooo.”
The masked man smiled and asked.
“This is the Holy Text?”
He then pretended to rip another one of the parchments.
“N, no—-!”
One of the high-ranking priests shrieked.
The masked man shouted.
He spoke extremely confidently.
“So don’t come any closer!”
Swoooooooosh-
Wind swirled around him.
It was an extremely refreshing wind.
It was like a small strand of cool breeze that blew underneath the clear sky after the storm. The breeze that seemed to embrace everything underneath the sky.
The masked man released a wind like that and pointed with his finger.
“You, you! And you guys!”
He pointed at the top executives and the knights heading toward him at the grassy field at the center of the basin of the ritual.
“Step back! I told you not to get closer!”
Boom boom!
He stomped on the altar again as if to destroy it.
He then shouted.
“Hey! You believers!”
The people trying to help the church in the chaos…
He pointed at the people who were stronger than most low-grade knights.
“I’ll rip the Holy Text if you guys move too!”
He tried to rip the Holy Text again.
“Or maybe I should destroy this altar?”
Boom boom!
He stomped on the altar again.
“T, that crazy bastard!”
Through the believers who looked flabbergasted and wronged…
“Hahahaha! This must be why villains do what they do! Hahahaha!”
The masked man let out an extremely refreshed laughter.
The bishop urgently moved toward the Saint’s side as he spoke.
“Saint-nim! How can that guy touch the Holy Text?!”
There was only one reason the Saint and the top executives were feeling such chaos right now.
“I thought only you and the Pope-nim could touch the Holy Text!”
“No.”
The Saint opened his mouth.
“That is not the case.”
He calmly commented.
“The Holy Text is something you can only touch if the God of Chaos has bestowed his authority to you.”
The Saint and the Pope were the only ones who could touch the Holy Text and survive because they were the only ones with that authority.
The ones who did not have it would be swallowed by the authority within the respective Holy Text and face extremely dreadful deaths.
‘What is going on?’
That was why…
‘Who is this bastard?
Who is he and how can he touch the Holy Text?’
He could see the masked man’s lips move again.
Smile.
The Saint flinched after seeing the smile.
But he then started to move.
Shaaaaaaaaaaa-
Grey wind filled the area around him.
“I will suppress him.”
He was the only one who could catch this bastard holding the Holy Text.
The bishop thought for a moment and urgently shouted.
“Saint-nim!”
The fact that he could touch the Holy Text meant that he had the authority.
“If he is someone the God of Chaos has sent-”
“That is possible.”
However…
“But there are others who can touch that Holy Text.”
“Excuse me?”
“There are.”
Just one.
These Holy Text left behind by an ancient God like the God of Chaos…
The existence that could touch this-
“A Five Colors-Grade wanderer.”
“!”
“And one more.”
The Saint released even more of the grey wind and let it carry his body.
You needed strength at the level of the authority of the God of Chaos to touch the Holy Text.
So it had to be a wanderer with a Five Colors-Grade unique power, or-
“God.”
A god with their own authority.
“Excuse me? A god?”
As the bishop opened his eyes in shock…
“Please contact the Pope-nim right away.”
The Saint said that and then extended his hand.
Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-
The Saint extended both hands.
Blades appeared in both hands.
It was not a sword like the ones knights or swordsmen use.
They were shaped similar to the butcher’s knife of a slaughterer.
Flutter.
It was a weapon that did not suit someone wearing a baggy priest robe like him.
But the moment a strange grey smoke started to rise from the Saint’s grey eyes…
And as those eyes that were full of the fear of chaos headed right toward the masked man…
Boom.
The ground started to shake.
The Saint and Cale looked at each other.
Cale continued to smile as he spoke.
“Right on time.”
The Saint had to look away first.
Baaaaaaaaaang!
Baaaaang!
A large explosion happening right behind his back…
“Aaaaaah!”
“Ugh! Block them!”
He could hear the screams of the believers as well as the troops of the church rushing around.
He turned his head.
The masked man calmly spoke behind him.
“What took you so long? I was waiting for you.”
The welcoming yet grumbling voice…
The Saint listened to that behind him as he faced a large red worm.
“… Wanderers.”
As he mumbled in a low voice…
“You crazy bastards! You must have been doing some crazy shit again!
Kahahaha!”
Cho stood on top of the red worm that seemed to be made of lava and moved his hand around.
Crackle!
Crackle–!
Red liquid shot up from every spot he pointed at and swallowed its surroundings.
“Aaaaaah!”
The church buildings were breaking.
The believers were running away.
“I’ll kill you all!”
Cho’s eyes had rolled over.
He was in an extremely excited state.
The disappearance of So Hee.
Betrayal.
Getting smacked in the back.
Losing one arm and being toyed with by the enemies.
Cho let all of his pent up anger and emotions explode.
“Destroy everything! Burn everything! You dare to mess with me?!”
He had long since forgotten about So Hee.
Because-
“Hold on.”
The other wanderer, Ryun…
His sister would take care of all of those things.
Ryun was capable of making rational judgments despite being swallowed by her anger.
“What is this situation?”
They had barged into the Church of the God of Chaos.
They had not seen anybody other than the minimal number of guards as they destroyed everything along the way.
As they were starting to think it was weird, they noticed that all of the believers and the top executives were gathered in the Holy Land, the Night of the Beginning.
“…Saint.”
They saw the Saint as well.
Furthermore-
Peek.
Peek.
She could see the people who had created this mess.
Two mages and one swordsman-
She didn’t even pay any attention to the weak sacrifices.
‘Who is he?’
The masked man wearing a black outfit…
He was standing at the center of the Holy Land.
“!”
The two of them made eye contact.
The mysterious man started to speak.
He then shouted.
“They are trying to advent the God of Chaos to this place!”
Both Ryun and Cho’s eyes opened wide.
“What?”
It made no sense.
Why had the Hunters chosen this Virtual Reality world?
There were no gods intervening in this place.
But a god could intervene in this world now?
“Ah.”
‘Maybe-
Did it happen as this world is turning real?
As Ryun’s eyes clouded over…
“The plan is to stomp all over the omnipotent god!”
The masked man shouted again.
“Shut your mouth!”
A high-ranking priest subconsciously shouted.
“…….”
Ryun was silent for a bit before opening her mouth.
“He’s not lying.”
The new moon.
The fully visible night sky now that the Root of the Beginning had disappeared…
She had her answer.
“Destroy everything.”
The wanderer, So Hee.
The Lan Kingdom.
That was not the end.
The Church of the God of Chaos had already betrayed them.
“Cho. Destroy everything even if it costs us our lives.”
She made a judgment.
The Third Emperor.
Even if a Five-Colored Grade wanderer like him showed up, the decision would be destruction.
The death of everyone.
That was it.
Craaaaaaack-
As everything around Ryun slowly started to freeze…
“Yeah! Destroy everything!”
She heard a cheeky voice.
No, it was an excited voice.
“Hahahaha!”
The masked man.
That bastard suddenly started coming down from the altar.
“Let’s destroy and loot everything!”
Cho made a comment.
“Who is that crazy bastard?”
But before they could even chat with that person…
Swooooooosh-
The Saint started moving.
He seemed rushed.
He rode on a grey breeze and moved extremely quickly.
‘The altar?’
It was toward the man at the altar.
“S, Saint-nim!”
Someone urgently called out to the Saint at that moment.
It could not be helped.
Boom!
The ground shook intensely.
“!”
“Holy shit, what is going on?!”
Ryun and Cho were flustered as well.
Oooooo– oooooo–
Ooooo–
Their surroundings started rumbling as if it would explode.
‘They are this strong?’
Ryun had checked on the two mages earlier.
She had ignored them because despite their large amounts of mana, they did not seem to be any danger to her.
However…
White gold light.
Red light.
The two different colors of mana shot up into the sky and then-
Boom!
As they both slammed back down on the ground…
Ooooooooo—
The moment the two lights quickly moved to the center of the basin and created a large magic circle…
“No!”
The bishop realized the situation and tried to do something, but…
– Rosalyn.
– Yes, Eruhaben-nim.
– We will lift up the others who are not sacrifices as well and then throw them out. You have that much control, right?
– Yes, Eruhaben-nim. I just have to stop my mana from reaching those people.
One Dragon and one mage gently clapped their hands.
Clap.
As they clapped at the same time…
Paaaat-!
A bright light that was a mix of white gold and red burst out of the basin.
“Ah!”
“Gasp!”
“Ahhh!”
Everybody inside the magic circle felt their bodies fly up into the air.
The 500 or so sacrifices…
They were swept up by the white gold and red lights and floated up into the air.
“Ah-”
They were people from other worlds that used different languages and had lived different lives.
What they saw was the night sky beyond the bright light.
The night of the full moon.
Their bodies were shooting up toward the night sky, the stars they could see in their worlds as well.
Their instincts were telling them.
They will be saved.
No, they will survive.
It could not be helped.
The light surrounding them… They felt no malice and only warmth in that light.
The white gold light that was as bright as a thunderbolt and the red light as clear as flame did not show any signs of attacking them.
All they could feel was the desire to get them out of this dreadful place.
Boom!
However, the ones who did not receive that desire…
A high-ranking priest who rolled to soften his landing as he felt his body float up and then fall, urgently shouted.
“Stop them!”
“Get them!”
Others started shouting as well.
“Grab those mages!
Grab the sacrifices as well!’
Countless believers reacted to those words.
Because they knew as well.
“Our night-”
“No! Tonight is the night of pleasure!”
The most important ritual in their faith toward their god was being destroyed.
They could not let that happen.
The bishop looked around thinking that this needed to be stopped and shouted.
“Saint-nim, we have to stop-”
However, his eyes opened wide.
Swoooooooosh-
The Saint was paying no attention to the sacrifices.
He had moved the moment the magic had started.
He had left the boundaries of the spell.
He was only moving in one direction.
The masked man.
Cale.
The Saint was charging toward him.
It could not be helped.
“No!”
An urgent voice came out of the Saint’s mouth for the first time.
‘How!’
How did this bastard know?
He had that question despite the urgent situation.
It could not be helped.
Flutter.
Cale slowly walked down from the altar and tried to go down beneath the lake.
– Sniff sniff!
He was following the scent of the divine item that the Sound of the Wind picked up.
– Mine……!
He was feeling the crazed obsession the cheapskate had toward the altar as well.
Cale raised his head as he headed down.
“Y, you bastard-!”
The Saint was holding butcher knives in both hands as he rode on a wind to get to him.
His eyes that were covered in grey light were full of the Fear of Chaos, however…
– Hmph.
The Dominating Aura snorted.
– He’s just a Saint. Not even a god.
‘Seriously.’
Cale smiled.
The Saint could see Cale laughing despite facing a full-powered Fear of Chaos.
Wave.
Cale waved his hand, and…
He looked at the mess that was left of the basin…
And at the lights floating up to the sky…
Splash!
He then jumped into the small lake-like puddle.
– Sniff sniff! An amazing divine item!
– Huff, huff. Let’s steal the altar too!
Cale could see it right away because it was a small puddle.
All the way at the bottom…
He could see a small grey whirlwind swirling down there.
He could faintly make out something at the center of the whirlwind.
‘That’s it.’
The divine item that would be used for the advent of the God of Chaos.
‘Hehe.
I’ll steal that and get out of here!
I’ll disappear like a villain!’
Cale happily planned his escape and moved quickly.
Splash!
He knew that the Saint would dive in after him.
Cale heard the Saint entering the water and moved down even faster.
He was almost at the end.
The wanderers had already destroyed most of the Holy Land and the entire area.
His allies above would save the sacrifices while he tied the Saint down here.
Choi Han and Raon, who were outside the gorge, would find a way for the sacrifices and the others to escape.
Yes. It would soon end.
He just needed to successfully steal and run.
* * *
“Huh?”
The Crazed Attention Seeker.
He blankly stared at the bottom of the gorge now that the Root of Beginning had disappeared.
“…Light?”
White gold light and red light harmoniously swirled together and shot up.
“People?”
That light was carrying people that were crying or looking relieved.
“Magic?”
Yes. Hundreds of people were shooting up into the air with magic.
“#%& ^&.”
“@#%!”
He had no idea what they were saying.
‘Can a game do something like this?
Is it a bug?’
He was blankly thinking when he heard a voice.
“…I feel the power of the sun.”
It was the Holy Maiden.
The woman who had been quiet until now was speaking.
Choi Han and Raon. She looked toward the two of them as she spoke.
“I also feel some extremely sinister and evil powers.”
Drip.
The Holy Maiden had some cold sweat dripping down.
“But the power of the sun is clearly in between those strong evil powers. And that light rising up with people… That light is warm.”
The Holy Maiden asked.
“Who are you all?”
However…
Flutter flutter.
Raon was too busy to answer.
– Raon, can you hear me?
He heard Goldie gramps’ voice as soon as the grey sky cleared.
– Those people are sacrifices. We need to save them.
The people shooting up above that voice…
Raon immediately understood.
“We need to save them!”
Flutter flutter.
As black mana gathered around the young Dragon cutely flapping his wings…
The overwhelming power made the Holy Maiden, the Holy Knight, and even the quiet Crazed Attention Seeker gasp.
“I’ll save them!”
Raon shouted with a sparkle in his eyes.
The Holy Maiden and the Holy Knight hesitated after seeing his pure eyes.
The young Dragon who had the same color as the night was not a dark being.
The black-haired knight next to him was not a dark being either.
They felt this way because both of them had extremely pure eyes.
Taaaat!
Choi Han was already grabbing people shooting up from the gorge.
Raon shouted to the Holy Maiden.
“All of you help when I pull the sacrifices here!”
Flutter flutter!
“We will save people!”
A system window popped up for the Crazed Attention Seeker and his friend at that moment.
[Will you accept the quest, ‘Night and Light’?]
[Light shines even brighter because there is night. Night and light trying to save this world is together in this place right now. Will you help them?]
‘…Save this world?
This world is in danger right now?’
The Crazed Attention Seeker’s eyes clouded over for a moment.
He looked at the black Raon and black-haired Choi Han, and then the Holy Maiden and Holy Knight of the Sun God.
However-
‘The real thing is not here.’
His instincts were telling him.
His crazed attention seeking instinct was activated.
‘It’s down there.’
What was happening down below…
Night and light existed down there.
They were fighting against a threat to this world.
But what did they mean by a threat to this world?
It was at that moment.
New words appeared on the quest window.
[Can you help save this world, this domain, this game?]
“Huh?”
‘Did it say game?’
As the two users’ pupils started to shake…
The Holy Maiden stepped forward and asked.
Her voice sounded urgent.
“Just who are you all?”
As the Holy Maiden shouted…
Raon just half-assed an answer because saving the sacrifices came first and the situation was dire.
He recalled something Cale had said at some point.
Cale had said that Raon had to say things before their worst actor started to speak.
“We are the Kingdom of Darkness!”
The two members of the Church of the Sun God…
And the two users as well…
Raon confidently shouted the truth despite their flinching.
“We’re super strong!”
Our human and our allies are very strong.
“So we can save everyone!”
Raon cast his spell with eyes sparkling like the stars in the night sky.
A large net appeared in between the gorge instead of the bridge.
That net gently caught the sacrifices.
“Help me Holy Maiden and Holy Knight! You humans as well!”
Choi Han had already jumped in between the net to push the people out of the gorge even faster.
Flutter flutter.
Raon shouted to the blankly staring people.
“Let’s save everyone!”
The Crazed Attention Seeker subconsciously moved his hand after seeing those pure eyes.
[You have accepted the quest, ‘Night and Light’.]
The Holy Maiden started to move as well.
Oooooo-
Holy power shot out of her body.
It was a healing power.
The Devil’s Boundary’s Cliff of Death.
Black and white lights started shooting out of that place.
Rustle.
And in the Devil’s Boundary…
The residents of this ostracized area were reacting to those lights and slowly starting to move in the darkness.
